I have had an interest
in photography for over 30 years both as a hobby and professionally.
I have also had a passion for horses since childhood and an involvement
in the equestrian sports industry as a follower for as long as I can
remember. I not only ride and own my own horse (meet Marvin on the right!!),
but I also work in the industry as a qualified freelance groom and stable
manager. It is this involvement in the business that made me decide
to also get involved in equestrian photography as I am around horses
everyday.
Being involved with horses and
being a professional photographer in the past, the decision to photograph
horses was not difficult and with the advent of digital photography,
it has to a degree made it more fun and more interesting (and more expensive!!).
Combining the knowledge of photography and horses I hope to bring an
exciting view of the many different aspects of our equine friends. I
do not just have a passion to photograph horses, I hope to progress
to capturing them in their natural environment and doing what they do
best, whether it be competing in various equestrian sports or just lazing
around or having fun in their fields.
My love of the sports side stretches
from National Hunt to Eventing, from Show Jumping to Team Chasing and
from Polo to everyday Fun Runs.
I believe that even with the
knowledge that I have now, every day is a learning day and this is what
makes it all the more interesting and enjoyable as no two days are the
same. There is a wealth of knowledge and a world of horses for me to
capture over time so please, enjoy looking at my photos as much as I
have enjoyed taking them.
